A spontaneous moment inside one of the world’s most elite sporting environments has put Hammerforce innovation on the global stage.
In a social media reel shared by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, driver Kimi Antonelli was seen pranking race engineer Peter Bonnington, known to fans as “Bono”, with a water gun powered by Hammerforce technology.
The unscripted reactions say it all.
“Man, that was spot on,” Antonelli laughs before demonstrating the water gun’s performance. Moments later, Lewis Hamilton joins in, saying, “I love this thing,” and asking whether the water gun was electronic, before clearly enjoying its power.
“It’s pressure,” Antonelli explains, referring to the patented valve and valve-actuation technology developed by Hammerforce.
Formula One represents the pinnacle of precision engineering, performance, and innovation, values closely aligned with Hammerforce’s own approach to technology development.
“F1 is one of the most technically innovative and disruptive sports in the world,” says CEO Andy Coster. “As a long-time F1 fan, seeing Kimi use the water gun and Lewis instinctively react to its performance highlights exactly what the technology was designed to achieve, fast, responsive, high-performance actuation that simply feels different in use.”
Although the appearance in the F1 paddock was informal and unscripted, it reflects a broader reality, New Zealand-developed IP is increasingly powering products recognised and used around the world.
“We build technology that sits inside products rather than on the label,” Coster says. “Seeing world-class athletes pick it up and immediately comment on how strong and responsive it feels is incredibly rewarding.”
The redesigned water gun features instant hose-connected refilling and powerful trigger-activated blasts (bullets) of water without traditional pumping.
