Mark Binns

Mark is an experienced company Director and former CEO. He is currently the Chair of Crown Infrastructure Partners Limited and Hynds Group Ltd, a Director of Auckland International Airport Ltd, and a Trustee of the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

Previously, Mark was Chief Executive of Meridian Energy for six years from January 2012 and led the company through the largest Initial Public Offering in New Zealand’s history.

Mark worked at Fletcher Building and Fletcher Challenge for 22 years, where he rose to the position of Chief Executive of the Infrastructure Division of Fletcher Building, the largest and most profitable division. Mark was responsible for the construction activities and heavy building materials of the Group and was intimately involved in the negotiation and execution of a number of large infrastructure projects including SKYCITY, Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, Westpac Stadium, and the second Manapouri Tailrace Tunnel.

Mark trained as a lawyer and was a partner at the law firm Simpson Grierson. Mark holds an LLB from The University of Auckland.
